So just as I had predicted, the protests have moved westward. It is now on American soil, in the heart of the Empire. I foresee this quickly spreading throughout the United States like a wild forest fire, becoming the spark that ignites a Second American Revolution.

Fresh off the dope ass new “creepy R&B” free mixtape of the Weeknd. Got some Siouxsie & Banshees in there and a hint of the nocturnal influence of Burial. They’ve been generating quite a buzz on the internet and in indie circles. Their remixes are just so sexy, I can’t stop hittin replay.
Check out Pitchfork’s article on the Weeknd and hear the full mixtape here: House of Balloons
When I was a little girl growing up in Belarus, I wanted to be an astronaut just like my hero Yuri Gagarin. I wondered what awaited us out in space and wanted to travel to the black hole of the milky way and emerge out into some new universe. Today is the Anniversary his flight into space, making him the first man out there in the unknown. I don’t know what he expected to find but what he didn’t find was God up there, just our beautiful lonely blue planet. On a later mission from which he never returned, I always imagined he went somewhere far far away and finally found what he was looking for…
So I went so the screening of Zeitgeist: Moving Forward at the Tribeca Film Center last week. The film was lengthy and focused largely on human conditioning and the urgent need to transition into a resource based economy in order to save our planet from unsustainable growth and consumption of resources.
It also featured the Venus Project founded by the great Jacque Fresco. After the screening, Peter Joseph was there for the Q&A. One of the things he said that stayed with me was his proposition to create our own currency, an idea I’ve been musing on for a while. He called it the “Z Bank”, with credits to appear on an internet database that can be traded for services by members.
The movement ( 310000+ members) is steadily building towards critical mass which is right on the horizon. What’s interesting is that the mainstream media is now using the recent Arizona shooting to demonize this movement along with other figures who are proposing change, all because the suspect, Jared Lee Loughner was obsessed with creating a new currency. Their use of the ad hominem tactic is juvenile as most rational people are aware that something needs to change in reagards to the collapsing economy that the gov’t is clearly not addressing correctly.
The film is now officially available online worldwide. View it here:
